Easy Goal Setting
Are you interested in more information on Goal Setting and how it helps you to succeed as a PCI P.O.W.E.R. Student and in your Life as a whole?
When you have really firm goals in your life, you will focus on the goals and not let you get distracted with day to day dramas.
We all have 24 hours in a day. How you spend your hours today can affect how your future will be.
Goals help you turn your dreams into a reality!
You should have some long term goals as well as short term goals (to help you stay on track)
Two Goal Setting Examples:
If your dream is to own a house one day you can make it happen with goals. To get a house you will need to have a job, and save up. Now let’s make this dream into long and short term goals:
Long Term Goal: Your 5 year goal is to buy a house.
Short Term Goals: Save money for the down payment by saving $10 a week, get a good paying job, get a good externship, finish degree at PCI, finish this Mod, finish this next assignment or get a B on the next test.
Of course there are lots of other goals you can make~ both large and small ~ along the way, but do you see where I am heading?
Example 2: Travel. A second example is a trip to Italy. How will I succeeded with this goal?
Long Term Goals: Save money and plan the trip for Summer 2016.
Short Term goals: Money: If I want to go in the next 5 years, I know I will need to start to save every week.
- $10 a week = $520 a year.
- $520 a year for 5 years = $2,600 dollars for my trip! WOW
In addition, I will need to check out websites and books on Italy and make small goals in the next few months and years such as:
- What week in the summer 2016 is best?
- What City do I want to Visit?
- What Museums/ Areas do I want to see
- What hotels / restaurants to check out
Give it a try! Set a few goals for this Mod/Month or for the rest of the year!
Don’t worry if you don’t always complete your goals on time. You can have setbacks, but at least you are working on the steps to complete your goals.
Best Way to Set/ Work Goals:
- Write down your goals (long and short term)
- Include Dates that goals will be completed
- Read Goals on a daily basis
When you have goals, you will be more focused. You will see all the daily stuff you do as a step to finishing a goal…. Even when it is something you don’t really want to do, it now has a purpose!
